Blue Ribbon Diner in Burlington

Dependably good food and service. The chicken pie on Sunday and Monday is particularly tasty. I wish there was a breakfast menu.

As a party of 8, an order would seem challenging, but we served well and the food was delicious. Great 50's style diner inside and out. We'd go back.

Went here for lunch and Aimee was my waitress/server and she was very sweet, respectful and attentive during my entire visit. This was my first time going to this Blue Ribbon Diner cause I usually go to the Mebane location instead cause I live closer to Mebane but i was in Burlington running errands. Both locations are fantastic and both have the most hospitable and respectful employees and the food here is unbelievable. Very clean dining room and clean bathrooms. I had the fried pickles with ranch dressing for dipping as an appetizer and had the shrimp salad with ranch for the main course and they came to the table in a short amount of time, super fresh and both dishes tasted fabulous. I definitely recommend this place to anybody young or old for some excellent food.

Food is good. Changed fries to wavy wedges. Not as good as small crinkle fries they use to have.

I particularly like the chicken pie. Their burgers are okay. I do not like the meatloaf at all. Seasonally they will have a shrimp burger that is dynamite!

Stopped in this little restaurant for the first time. What a amazing place. We got seated right away. Melissa was our Server. She was attentive and very pleasant. The food was great. Had the Country Fried Steak and my wife had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. Both were awesome. If you are in Burlington looking for a affordable nice place to eat, Blue Ribbon is a great place!

Blue Ribbon has great food, pretty good service usually. It's a great place for in and out dining on lunch a lunch break. I love that they have a pickup lane for call in orders. The menu selection is great. There is a wide array of choices. But save room for dessert. You can't go wrong with any of their dessert options.

My daughter had the children's chicken tenders and I had the adult basket. The only difference between the two was one chicken strip. Child's have 2 and adult has three. Kid's meal $3.75 adult $8.50. Someone told me you get unlimited fries. Waitress never offered. The tenders did taste good and so did the apple jack sauce.

I love the music and the homestyle food is great.

Good food at a local diner! Blue Ribbon Diner has lots of food to choose from, including specials seven nights a week. The restaurant is crowded during normal dinner hours, but I've never had to wait over two or three minutes to be seated. The waiters and waitresses are friendly and quick to recommend a meal if a customer can't make up his mind. I highly recommend their Apple Jack chicken, whether on a platter with two vegetables, or in a salad. A customer can eat as healthy as they want to. Blue Ribbon Diner also offer milkshakes and other desserts.

First of me and the wife go here pretty regularly for date night. She loves the meatloaf and I love the shrimp salad. Great food great service never had any issues from this establishment.

Ordered the Chili Cheese Fries appetizer. Unfortunately it was barely enough for one person, much less the other people at the table. An appetizer should be enough to share with the other people at the table. In the past they were served on a large plate with plenty to share, now it's just a small fry with chili and cheese. The size has dropped, but unfortunately the price hasn't. Other than that the meal and service were great.

Slow service, VERY loud. Blue Ribbon Burger was not good. Cooked to burned extremely well done status.

I ordered the daily special meatloaf. It was completely flavorless with the exception of the half inch layer of ketchup on top and had the texture of soggy bread. Put that with a side of instant potatoes And over fried okra. For $7.50 I would have done better at McDonald's.

Great onion rings. Great service. Found it to be a little pricey.

Another great local establishment to grab some amazing comfort food of the South. Late night desserts and coffee was our goal tonight, however I'm sure the rest of the menu is just as tasty. Fast, friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere makes this "Stop" along your journey worth your time. ~V.

I like Blue Ribbon because they have good food. However, you can definitely feel the "why are you here you're black" stare from at least a quarter of the staff. They will look right over you to serve "others" first but this is Alamance county so I don't expect anything more. But the few bad apples won't spoil my view because the good people make up for it

After placing my order online. I bring it home and realize that my order of Southern Fried Chicken Plate which looks like a piece of chicken in breading covered with a white gravy, was actually three chicken strips the size you feed a toddler. Now expecting the Resturant to try and make it right I called to report it. The individual I spoke with said “yup that’s how it comes” I asked about the gravy and they said it doesn’t normally come with it. So really what the rest of the world calls a chicken strip they are calling Southern Fried Chicken Plate.

The best grilled chicken in the world. The Applejack sauce they use is one of a kind... You can't go wrong with a one great chicken basket and a side of onion rings or their grilled chicken salad. This and the location in Mebane are gems!

Food was good and our waitress was wonderful.

Limited menu with daily specials. Good food served reasonably promptly. Moderate prices. Milkshakes are a specialty. Diner is popular with locals. Lunch and dinner only.

Boy, we just had an excellent dinner tonight. Thank you blue ribbon diner. I had the chef salad and it was perfect. The restaurant was full but not too crowded which is always appreciated. Friendly and fast service. Always a fun place with a good local appeal.

I use to eat here a lot and haven’t been in awhile for no real reason. Have they changed their hamburger meat? I had the steak and it was not as I remember, use to be tender and had a really good taste. I would much rather have quality over quantity. The salad was really good but where’s the Italian dressing. I would go back but probably get a salad.

Very clean,old 50 diner feel.staff are great.had the buffalo sauce burger,very good burger,Highly recommend.but they have a variety of food choices,so whatever you are in the mood for from salads all the way up to steaks.Its there for you

Food was good. Service was friendly. The only complaint I have is the vegetable plate I ordered came with a cornbread muffin so small it was rediculous. It was enough to make me not want to go back.

I absolutely love this place! There are so many cool things all around the restaurant on the walls and standing alone! This place is so cool in the food is delicious and well priced

I called in a takeout order. The person taking my order kept putting me on hold, so I ask him to repeat my order just to make sure since they were evidently really busy. When I arrived, I waited & waited & waited. While waiting for my food, a lady came up front to restock cups. She rested the sleeve of cups in the open ice container!!! Long story short, when I get home, we open our boxes & the order was totally WRONG! Cold, little bity fries, hamburger steak topped with limp cold bacon & cheese. Nothing else!!! No slaw, no bread, NOTHING. I was so embarrassed in front of my friend that THIS was what I was feeding us! Never again! On top of everything else, the Mexican cooks were speaking Spanish real fast to each other. Money completely wasted....

Everything was prepared quickly and just the way we ordered! The food here is absolutely amazing! We ordered the grilled cheese for my youngest he LOVED it especially since it was extra cheesy with a great cheese pull which he doesn't see often! My other son got the bacon cheese burger and it was huge!! The burger was just as big as the bun very filling and very juicy! My husband got the loco chicken sandwich with sweet and smoky grilled chicken topped with pepper Jack and other fixings! Can you say yum!! I got the chicken fried chicken sandwich and boy oh boy watch out Chick-fil-A!! This sandwich was all white real chicken that was cooked to perfection...super juicy with a good crunch! This was our first visit and we can't wait to get back to try their milkshakes. The vibe here is classic diner with a home town touch from the local school pictures hanging throughout the space.

The chocolate chess pie is GREAT! The veggies didn't taste seasoned. The chicken pie was not the greatest either. Staff was very nice.
